Fast Writing is My Best Writing

Jessica Lynn (11k followers) has noticed this. She writes:

“For whatever reason, the posts I’ve spent the least amount of time writing resonate with more readers than ones I labor over.”

We then had a brief but interesting conversation about why that’s the case.

There’s a pattern to articles that readers love

I replied to Jessica:

“This is true for me too. I’m increasingly focused on finding ideas that will be fast to write — not just for efficiency, but because readers seem to like them most.”

Katrina Paulson was also in on the conversation, and she said: “I notice the same pattern.”

For Jessica, it’s about the sense of certainty and self-assuredness we bring to our writing that makes it engaging to readers. She replied to Katrina:

“Maybe when we know something really well it flows out of us and more people can relate because we are so sure of it.”
